    Veterinarian / Owner

    Dr. North established North Veterinary Clinic in 1994 to provide personalized health care to area pets. A native New Englander, Dr. North graduated from Michigan State University in 1983. After spending several years in mixed animal practice in Michigan, she and her family moved to Connecticut. Dr. North and her family share their home with dogs, cats, horses, sheep, and chickens, many of which are "second chance rescues." Says Dr. North: "Animals are my passion, both home and at work. They have enriched my life in so many ways."

  • Laura

    Practice Manger 

    Laura joined our team the as Practice Manager.  She combines her love of all animals with her managerial skills to bring support to all aspects of the clinic.  Laura’s spare time is dedicated to her farm that is sanctuary to a menagerie of senior pets including:  A UConn Morgan named U.C. Last Tango, 4 adorable hens who keep the ticks at bay, 2 ewes and a wide variety of rescue cats.  Laura says: “My animals are my babies and caring for them into their golden years is a calling and a joy.”   “It is a privilege to be a part of North Vet Clinic where all our patients are treated like family”

  • Carrie

    Veterinary Technician

    Carrie has worked with Dr. North for 20 years. She has a bachelor'™s degree in animal science and is a certified veterinary technician. Through continuing education, Carrie has expanded her knowledge in her field of special interest, cytology. She is a founding member of the professional organization VHCT2, the Veterinary Health Care Team of Connecticut. Away from the office, Carrie and her husband enjoy the company of their cats and German Shepherd dogs.

  • Samantha

    Receptionist and Veterinary Assistant

    Samantha joined North Veterinary Clinic in 2009. Sam's animal career began as she was a young adult, working at boarding kennels and supervising doggy daycares. After earning her associates degree in animal care from Becker College in 2008, she began working as an animal control officer. Sam prides herself in helping pet owners understand the treatments and medications prescribed for their pet. She also holds a special place in her heart for rescued and unsocialized pets. In Sam's free time she enjoys caring for and spending time with her daughter and her own pets, two rescue dogs, and two rescue cats.

  • Amy

    Veterinary Assistant

    Amy joined us at North Veterinary Clinic in March of 2011, with four years previous experience working as a veterinary assistant. For twelve years she also worked at a nationally recognized show kennel. Amy is knowledgeable about many breeds of dogs but holds a special place in her heart for sight hounds. Amy enjoys working with animals, her favorite part of the job being getting to know the individual personalities of the patients. Amy spends her free time pet sitting, and enjoys the company of her four cats when she's home.

  • Vicki

    Veterinary Technician

    Vicki joined North Veterinary Clinic in June 2016.  She earned her associates degree in Veterinary Technology from Northwestern Connecticut Community College in 2005.  She then received her certification as a veterinary technician from CVMA in 2005 and the MVTA in 2015.  Vicki also received her hairdresser license in 2013.  She lives with her fiancé Stephen, their son Louis, and 2 cats; Priscilla and Eleanor, and a labradoodle, Bucky.  Vicki also enjoys sharing her knowledge in animal nutrition, and in her spare time she enjoys the outdoors, yoga, and time with her family.

  • Katie

    Veterinary Technician

    Katie joined our team at North Veterinary Clinic in August of 2017. She has been a vet tech for 7 years. Katie worked in restaurant field for many years, playing multiple roles from food runner to bar manager, honing her customer service skills and abilities to multi-task. She decided to make a career switch because she “wanted to make a difference” and has always loved animals! Katie graduated from Framingham State University with a bachelor’s degree in communications and phycology. In Katie’s free time she enjoys volunteering and fostering for a local cat rescue, Here Today Adopted Tomorrow. She has 6 rescue cats at home, 2 rescue dogs, and many chickens. Katie comes from a big family and has many nieces and nephews she spends time with as well as her husband, Casey.
